“…a fresh version of John Hardy’s well-known, and achingly beautiful, setting of Yr Wylan (The Seagull), by the fourteenth century Welsh poet Dafydd ap Gwilym, set for baritone, harp and piano.”
Enid Luff, Composers of Wales Newsletter.
Yr Wylan, newly arranged for voice, harp and piano, is part of the song cycle Fflamau Oer: Songs for Jeremy, originally commissioned and performed by Jeremy Huw Williams. The new version was first performed by Jeremy Huw Williams, Catrin Finch and Nigel Foster. See Jeremy Huw Williams' testimonial about this arrangement and a review about the original arrangement of the work for solo voice and piano.
