The world premiere screening of Abraham's Point will take place at Cineworld Cardiff, Mary Ann Street, at 6.45pm on November 29th as part of the Soundtrack International Film and Music Festival for Wales. The UK premiere of Delyth Jones' film CWCW will be screened on November 28th at 3pm.
Original music for the films was recorded by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
Abraham's Point is a film by Wyndham Price, starring Mackenzie Crook and featuring Harriet Walter, Joseph Millson and Mariah Gale. The film is a witty blend of road-trip thriller and poignant family drama. Mackenzie Crook plays a young man, Comet Snape, who steals a grandfather clock and sets off to bring it back to his dying father in West Wales.
Sometimes poignant, often very funny, Abraham's Point takes Comet on a journey of redemption from the dark streets of London back to the beautiful landscapes of Wales and to the little coastal village where his parents still live. Here in a shattering climax, we discover the dark secret that has haunted Comet for so long. Find out more about the film on our Abraham's Point project page.
Starring Eiry Thomas, Aneirin Hughes and Rhys Richards, CWCW tells the story of jobbing writer Jane Jones who works on the awful soap opera 'FAMILY DOCTOR' starring the 'heroic' Dr Gareth, played by her incompatible, alcoholic husband. Approaching forty, Jane is on the verge of a mental breakdown.
With her marriage on the rocks and artistic streak stymied by her boss, Jane makes a decision to break away and reinvent herself, only to find that when you run from then past, it tends to follow, blurring the lines between fantasy and reality. Find out more about the film on our CWCW project page.
Tickets for both events are available at the Soundtrack festival page from Monday 20 October.
