John Hardy joined other industry leaders including screenwriter Andrew Davies, critic Gillian Reynolds and actress Dame Harriet Walter CBE on the panel of judges for the first ever BBC Audio Drama Awards.

John was a member of the panel judging 'Best Use of Sound in an Audio Drama', together with RTE producer Kevin Brew and Guardian radio critic Elisabeth Mahoney.

Presented by David Tennant, the awards ceremony was held on Sunday 29th January 2012 at the BBC Radio Theatre, London.

"The awards aim to celebrate and recognise the cultural importance of audio drama, on air and online, and to give recognition to the actors, writers, producers, sound designers, and others who work in the genre" BBC
