John Hardy won his fifth BAFTA Cymru award for Best Original Soundtrack Music in the BAFTA Cymru award ceremony at Wales Millenium Centre on Sunday 23rd May. The award was presented by Connie Fisher (Winner of BBC 1's 'How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?'
John took home the award for the third year running with his soundtrack music for Cwcw (Cuckoo), described by the Guardian as a 'quirky Welsh relationship drama,' written, produced and directed by Delyth Jones.
The film also won an award for Best Actress (Eiry Thomas). Cwcw is the story of Jane Jones, a frustrated writer for the awful soap opera 'Family Doctor' starring her incompatible, alcoholic husband. Jane makes a decision to break away and reinvent herself, only to find that when you run from then past, it tends to follow, blurring the lines between fantasy and reality.

The other nominated soundtracks were by Torchwood composer Ben Foster and Chris Lewis, composer for Ralio A Mwy. Last year John won the award against competition from Doctor Who composer Murray Gold.
John joins an elite group of just three BAFTA Cymru winners with five awards in a single category. Huw Edwards, best known for BBC News at Ten, won his fifth award for Best On-Screen Presenter and last year the Doctor Who dubbing mixer Tim Ricketts took his sixth award for Best Sound.
