We're delighted to announce the release by Ffin Records of John Hardy's colourful orchestra piece Blue Letters from Tanganyika.
Following the success of the bright, energetic piece in five performances by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, a successful audience vote and radio play, Blue Letters is released on Friday 1st May.
Blue Letters was inspired by airmail letters sent home by a woman in her mid-twenties who was sent to help teachers in an area of East Africa the size of England. That woman was John's mother, and her letters describe adventures travelling on foot across wild terrain and by canoe on the great lake.
